State and Team Records Set
The 2026 boys high school lacrosse season has begun and Laxnumbers will once again post the best performances in points, goals, assists, face-offs and saves.
News and Notes From Around the Country
Felton Grove (N.C.) sophomore Ryan Knuettel set the North Carolina record for most points in a game with a 19-point performance against Voyager Academy (N.C.) on March 23.
Knuettel handed out 12 assists and scored seven goals in a 21-3 victory.
His performance breaks the previous record of 18 points scored by Gavyn Sandlin from Vance Charter (N.C.) on March 17, 2022. His 12 assists puts him in a three-way tie for the second-most in a game in state history.
Knuettel becomes the 11th reported player to have scored at least 19 points in a game in the history of boys lacrosse. The last time it happened was in 2024 when Tieson Cooper from Grand Ledge (Mich.) and Angelo Giannini from Farmington (Mich.) each put up 19 points in a game during the season.
Jimmy Lewis still holds the record with a 21-point game while at Uniondale (N.Y.) in 1961.
Knuettel has 36 goals and 35 assists through 11 games this season.

Coach Milestone Potential
Did you know that coach records can be updated in real time?
If a coach is verified for the current season, their career record will update with the team’s record. If you have yet to verify your head coach for the 2026 season, please submit them with their current tenure and we will take care of the rest.
Coaches who are verified and records are confirmed, populate our various state leaders lists in addition to our Career Wins list. You can watch your head coach climb the lists!
Some coaches who’ve been verified for 2026 that could reach milestone victories this season include*:
St. Joseph Metuchen (N.J.) Head Coach Tony Calandara could earn his 350 win this season. He needs 10 wins, which he has done in every season since 2010 - except 2023
Bruce Garcia needs at 15-win season to reach 400 for his career at Central Bucks East (Pa.). The Patriots are 2-2 this season and coming off a 14-win season in 2025.
Dave Giarrusso needs 10 wins to reach 350 for his career. The Verona (N.J.) Head Coach has won at least 10 games in each of the past two seasons.
Rob Goodwin should earn win No. 300 this season. The West Morris Central (N.J.) Head Coach has 297 and never won fewer than seven games in a season.
If Marc Moreau leads Rumson-Fair Haven (N.J.) to at least five wins this year, which he has done every season since 2004, he will earn the 300 victory of his career.
Mike Webster will earn the 400th win of his career this season. The longtime Pingry (N.J.) head coach sits at 399 entering the season. The Big Blue’s first game is at Bridgewater-Raritan (N.J.) on March 28.
